Coalson Brown, Slick Rock Photography

Coalson Brown, third-generation slick rock cowboy.

My family has historically raised finewool sheep, angora goats, and cattle on the border near Del Rio, Texas. After graduating high school, I attended West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas, to study animal science and competed as a decathlete.  At the end of my track career, I turned to photography as a platform to capture the magic and character of agriculture, industry, and blue-collar America.  After a brief tenure as a ranch hand in the Panhandle, I returned to southwest Texas to work at the historical Texas Agriculture Experiment Station in Sonora, Texas, tending to cattle, sheep, and goats and aids in cutting edge ecological and agricultural research.

My photography ranges from raw, gritty action shots to crisp captures of wildlife and landscapes.
